Oyakodon
Mother and child dish consisting of chicken and egg seasoned with dashi and served over rice.

- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 10 oz chicken, sliced
- 1 Tbspn sake
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup dashi
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp sugar
- 3/4 cup sushi rice
- Prepare rice in rice cooker
- Sprinkle sake on chicken; let set 5 minutes
- Break eggs in bowl; break yolks but do not scramble
- Dissolve sugar in dashi, soy sauce, mirin.
- Add onions to pan and sauce; bring to boil; add chicken. Simmer 5 minutes.
- Pour eggs over mixture
- Serve over rice.
