Recipe: Tonkatsu
Similar to Katsudon, but a crunchier pork chop.
- Pork chop(s), thinly sliced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup panko or bread crumbs
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
- 1 dash soy sauce
- Vegetable oil
- Serving of white rice, fried cabbage and/or carrot
Beat egg in a shallow bowl with a dash of Worcestershire and soy sauce. Spread panko in a second bowl. Dredge pork chop through egg and then panko. Set aside for 5 - 10 minutes. This is a good time to fry up the cabbage and carrot. Heat oil in a cast iron skillet. Fry pork chop, two minutes to a side. Slice pork shop, serve over rice with cabbage and carrots.
