Tofu Donburi

Tofu with sushi rice or with fried yakisoba.


  • 14 oz Extra Firm Tofu, cubed
  • 1/4 cup potato or corn starch
  • 2 Tbsnp vegetable oil
  • 2 cups diced vegetables (cabbage, carrots, onions, leeks, etc.)
  • 2 Tbsnp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup [[Teriyaki Marinade]] OR 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
  • Seseme seeds
  • Japanese mayonaise
  • 1 serving sushi rice or yakisoba noodles

  1. Press tofu for four hours, ideally overnight then cube
  2. Roll tofu in starch
  3. Heat oil in a wok and place tofu cubes in pan; fry for two minutes, then turn. Set tofu aside
  4. Stir-fry vegetables in wok; right before done toss rice vinegar over vegetables and let evaporate.
  5. Add tofu back to the wok and drizzle teriyaki marinade over the wok. Toss.
  6. Serve over rice or with fried yakisoba noodles; drizzle with seseme seeds and mayo
