Sleep Log

The sleep log is a daily log of several quality of life metrics. The log is physically kept on a clip board in the bedroom so it can be easily updated whenever I leave the space and is incorporated into my regular reviews.

Metrics

Date

The day of the log entry.

Sleep (Time Start, Time End, and Duration)

Sleep is simply the quality of resting in bed. I record the time (rounded to the nearest 15 minutes) that I laid down, when I rose, and the duration.

Weight (Entry in Lbs.)

In the morning, I weigh myself and record my current weight. These weights are later entered into Cronometer to evaluate my trend line.

Good Day? (Boolean)

A simple question to answer before bed: was it a good day? This is a purely subjective question that takes into account my energy level, my productivity in work and personal projects, my mood etc.

Depressed? (Boolean)

Depression is orthogonal to good days (although it does contribute). It is possible to be depressed, but still push through for a productive day. This is a question of is the anhedonia acting up (did I feel pleasure in my day)? Do I feel unreasonably sad? Am I melancholic? Am I being anti-social? Am I behaving self destructively?
